OUR MISSION
WE SHARE KNOW-HOW AND INNOVATIVE TECHNICAL SKILLS OF GREAT EUROPEAN SPECIALISTS WITH LOCAL DOCTORS
Thanks to globalization and the great socio-economic changes, the African continent is rapidly changing face.
Epidemic diseases such as HIV, malaria and tuberculosis remain among the main local health scourges but, in the next fifteen years, these will give way to chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, pulmonary, cardiovascular and urological diseases.
The local health supply must be ready to face the growing demand for health services linked to this type of pathology and this is possible only through capacity building actions, sharing specialist medical knowledge in these sectors with the local medical community, in order to achieve a healthcare offer that is not only accessible, efficient, effective and safe, but also kind and respectful of diversity.
CAPACITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES WILL BE DEDICATED TO AFRICAN HEALTH SYSTEM OPERATORS
For this reason, Ethicamed is committed to organizing in-depth studies, training sessions and events and to sharing ad hoc equipment in the main healthcare sectors.
Accessibility of care
We believe that everyone should have access to a uniform, comprehensive and effective healthcare system they can rely on
Safety
We share knowledge and experience for the development of more efficient and safer healthcare techniques.
Education
We create bridges of knowledge between the best of European medical expertise and the local health community to bring new treatments.
Cooperation
We work together with the local health community to offer concrete support.
PREMISE
Even Africa has not been spared by globalization: new living conditions, new eating habits, the increase in urbanization, new mobility and the increase in health spending and government investments in the sector, are all conditions that, if on the one hand they have led to a tangible improvement in living conditions, on the other they have determined the emergence of a new spectrum of diseases. Faced with these diseases, often unknown in Africa, the African health system is unable to give a quick response.
According to the World Health Organization, in the region in question, the mortality rate linked to oncological, cardiological and nephrological problems will be 42% in 2030. At the same time, the local health system lacks specific equipment and skills. This implies that one of the main barriers in the fight against these diseases is represented by access to specialized care, particularly in rural areas.
Therefore, the need for a project has emerged that has the main purpose of developing innovative skills for health care.
HOW TO ANSWER THIS NEW PANORAMA?
Ethicamed makes its contribution to international health cooperation by creating bridges of knowledge between the best of European medical expertise, in the health fields of greatest interest for the new clinical trends for the region, and the local health community.
It is a capacity building process that allows local clinicians to respond efficiently and effectively to the new challenges that the continent will have to face by virtue of a development process that is as linear as possible and respectful of the rights of every human being. to be healthy.
Ethicamed will work for the implementation and consolidation of the health system in all regions of Sub-Saharan Africa with a view to cooperation. In one word: sharing.
WHO WE ARE
Ethicamed was born with the full desire to respond to the great Italian tradition of international collaboration, which has always seen health cooperation as one of its main strengths and operations at a national, European and international level.
Born from the experience and enthusiasm of a diverse group including healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, doctors and university professors, the Association provides its networking and relational capital to carry out capacity building actions.
With the intention of differentiating itself from traditional charitable foundations, in which support is represented by a purely economic and tangible factor, Ethicamed mainly offers intangible skills, knowledge and experiences, with a view to sharing and medical-scientific progress, thus supporting , a good cause in an innovative way.
